Russia’s UTair cuts staff 24% to 3,899 in January–June
MOSCOW, Aug 17 (PRIME) -- Personnel of Russian troubled airline UTair decreased by 24.34% to 3,899 people in January–June, as seen by PRIME in the company’s report for the period on late August 14.
Payments to personnel contracted by 16.73% on the quarter to 910 million rubles in April–June, with social payments falling 31% to 51.64 million rubles in the period.
“From the fourth quarter of 2014, a significant number of airlines is carrying out a policy of staff cuts, including flight crews. It formed a surplus of qualified work force aon the labor market, including with prepared flight crews of foreign–made aircraft,” the company said.
In January–June, the company carried 2.478 million passengers, down 39% on the year.
